We Have Been Busy Bees...
Hello Father’s Farmhouse Family! We are excited to bring you an update on our progress on the farm and ministry, and also share a little about upcoming projects and opportunities to partner with us. With summer in full swing our lives are fuller than ever! Our daily activity is full of fruits and veggies, friendships and fellowship, markets and revivals, prepping and planning; it sure does keep us on our toes! So let’s jump right in! In the past year and a half, we have been blessed to accomplish the following:
• Start our Non-Profit partner organization, Isaiah Builders. The Non-Profit is responsible for carrying out the big picture goal of building a Community Resource Center, of which Father’s Farmhouse, LLC (for-profit farm) is a component. (Complete vision plan for each organization is available for anyone interested.)
• Build a barn! Last December we completed construction of a 30’x50’ barn that is allowing us to do a multitude of things – house farm supplies and equipment, facilitate chicken feed distribution within the local farming community, and most fun of all, host our monthly Barn Revival! • Prune our olive grove and buy an Italian olive mill. Last year was our first real production year for our own olive oil, and so far it has been a HIT! This year’s harvest is going to be about 6 times last year’s - YUGE!
• Replant the vineyard. This year we managed to replace over sixty vines that we lost during our time away in DC.
• Expand our Farmer’s market. Our monthly Farmer’s Market has grown to 15 vendors, with ongoing talks with at least another 20 interested vendors.
• Designed our Farm-To-Table Dinner Venue…it’s going to look amazing!
The list goes on, but your time is precious, so here are our needs...
• Finish the well project by installing irrigation piping throughout the property and expand our crop production (cost $15,000)
• Solar energy. Big picture, we have a pressing need to upgrade our current energy capacity and electrical infrastructure in order to host farm staff, irrigate agriculture, hold classes, host barn revivals, and be energy independent (cost $110,000 all in)
• Completion of trailer pad for additional rentals. This will facilitate ongoing passive income (cost $15,000) • Catered Farm-To-Table Dinner Venue – Our dining venue will enable us to host ministry events, our future school, and farm-to-table catered dinners. This would create an additional income stream to help support the overall vision (cost $60,000)
• Missionary support for the Manno family. Our family needs regular financial support from our partners to be able to continue to facilitate the dynamic and complex growth of this vision, particularly in our ministry through Isaiah Builders (the Barn Revival, etc.)
As mentioned, we are trying to focus our immediate efforts on these revenue generating projects that will create sustainability and help support our vision.
As many of you know, we have been working very hard to steward this vision. The result has been more fruit than I can explain here, but suffice it to say that we have discovered a community that is equally passionate and supportive about what we are doing in our comprehensive farm and barn ministry, at such a time as this.
We want to thank those of you who have already been so supportive of our efforts by signing up as members, becoming regular farm customers, volunteering your time, and committing to support our family through your patronage and regular monthly donations. It is an amazing experience to be held up by so many faith-filled friends. We need your continued financial partnership to keep building our vision for a Community Resource Center, including Fathers's Farmhouse.
